hey guys
i want to make my site more visible on the web. I am willing to pay someone for any help that
could be offered. Maybe someone could use some extra money helping me out. Anyone interested,
please make any suggestions for me here in the forum.
I am looking for ideas on the website as well. Different things i could add or change etc.

Page load is slooow. I would suggest you work on the page design first. It is possible increasing conversions could be as simple as getting the page to load in a reasonable amount of time.

Although I wouldn't know -- I didn't stick around long enough to see what was written on the page before quitting.

Talking re: i need some help - 10-12-2006, 02:01 PM

Hey there,

Thanks for you input. I appreciate any and all i get. I was thinking my site has been loading slower lately. I think i figured out the problem. I had alot of paid ads loading on there. I noticed that the ads seem to load first, even before the site does. That's not good for me.

I removed most of them and the site just pops right up now. Please i would appreciate any feedback on if the site is loading faster or not now.

I really dont want to use these ads but i have to make some money somehow. That was my choice. I think i read somewhere those ads turn people away sometimes because there not into making you money, there into finding what they might be looking for. Most interneters know what the ads look like now. And aviod clicking on them.

And i must say, now when i go to a site that is mostly comprised of paid ads. I leave...because it is useless to me most times. Usually just a bunch of unrelated information.

Anyway....

Thanks for the feedback and i hope its better now.

man this is time consuming. ut i love it....

Default Your top fold is very important - 10-12-2006, 02:56 PM

Greetings:

Great as your product is, there is nothing on the top fold (what is displayed after the page first loads) regarding your Free TV on your Computer Monitor product.

I would get rid of one of the "Paperless Bookstore" header graphic elements,
or better yet, redesign your header graphics so that this element, together with the top navigation bar, will take up no more than 3cm down from the top.

This way the headline can be displayed when the page loads and more likely more page viewers will scroll down your page.

BTW you page does indeed take to long to load. You would best create a duplicate page and experiment (restarting your computer each time to clear your browser cache) with eliminating certain elements. First take note of each graphics file size.

Francis

im not exactly sure what you mean.

"there is nothing on the top fold (what is displayed after the page first loads) regarding your Free TV on your Computer Monitor product."

The whole main index page is all about the tv product. Its a weekly feature i do. It changes each week.

Also...

get rid of the red "the paperless bookstore" graphic? Is that maybe what you mean.?

Does it makes it slow to load or would you figure it might be the paid ads i have on there?

thanks

"Above the fold" means the first thing your visitors see when they get there. You should have a strong benefit-driven headline that captures their attention and gets them to keep reading rather than click away to another site.

Frankly, there are so many things on the top, the left side, the right side, and the middle to look at that it may be a bit overwhelming to them. You want them to read your copy first, right? I'm assuming you want them to purchase or opt in to your list or do something other than just look at your site for a moment and go somewhere else.

To do that you'll need to introduce some direct response copy and a powerful headline and lead.

I suggest you poke around this site here and pick up some tips. As well as read some good books on direct response. If you want a homerun right away, you would be better off hiring a pro copywriter.

Best Regards,

John

Keep It Simple (KIS)

Top right, you've got the header "Best Sellers" then an ad below, then a search box, then the heading "Top 10 Favorite Picks". It doesn't make sense, where are the Best Sellers????

Customer testimonials have no name or general address details e.g. State.

Be consistent. Text links should be in blue and preferably underlined (The left-hand side box is black text underlined). In the words of Steve Krug "Don't Make Me Think" (get the book and read it and also anything by Jakob Nielsen useit.com: Jakob Nielsen on Usability and Web Design .

No amount of search engine optimization is going to get people to buy or sign up. That's design/copy.

The fact you have so many ads makes people think this site has very little to offer.

What do you want your visitors to do?

Maybe, sign them up to your e-mail newsletter??? If so, bribe them with a free package for doing so. Then market them through an e-mail campaign.

Get a designer and get a copywriter. Once you've got a good site and strategy then work on visibility.

Best Wishes,

Tom
