Default I'm Back! New Site, New Critique Request... - 09-14-2006, 07:29 PM

Hey guys,

You all helped me so much with my last copy, I thought I'd come back see what you have to say about my new one.

Some of you will remember my last site www.highpowergolf.com, it was my very first website and and it is doing... well, ok...

I am getting pretty frequent sales from clickbank and last time I checked I was on the second page of the results for "golf" at clickbank.

If I spent the time on driving my own traffic to that site, I'm sure I would be making more money. Although I am getting an average of about 10 sign ups to my list from that site every day, and back end sales will do very well I think. I am currently working on a up sell product.

But the reason for this thread is not highpowergolf.com, it is for my new site. And I am very excited about this one. The new one is in the weight loss niche and I think I have a pretty unique twist that will differinciate me from the crowd.

The copy is not long, but I don't think it has to be. This niche buys on impulse, they are looking for a quick fix. I wrote this sales copy with the intent to first cause a fear that they are doing something wrong and they dont even know what it is. Then I give them hope and tell them there is an easy way to learn what they are doing wrong and fix it FAST.

Hopefully it is as good as I think it is... I just closed the deal on a JV with a guy that has a list of dieters 90,000 names deep. I want to perfect the copy before he sends it out.

So tell me what you think:

www.taste-nutrition.com

Also, I am still looking for more JV partners so if you are interested, shoot me a PM.

Thanks,
-Chad

You need proof.

Testimonials... or at least scientific data.

And I know you were going for a quickie, but I think the letter is a little short. It needs a little more beef.

Hey Vin, good to talk to you again.

So did you like it though? You didn't just exit the page, which is a plus! lol I know how impatient you are with pages like this. Did it grab your attention and get you interested in the product?

You gave some great suggestions. It will take time before I can get some good testimonials obviously. Unless I can get somebody to lose 30 pounds in three days lol

I have a question about legal issues for anyone that knows about these things: I want to put a quote from another site on my home page within my copy.

The person I want to quote did I scientific study that proves the effectiveness of my product, but he uses this study to promote his.

The quotes I want to use come from this page:
http://www.hispanicbusiness.com/news...d.asp?id=21789

The quotes I want to use are:

"After more than 20 years of research, our studies have confirmed that your sense of taste actually has more to do with how much you eat than any other factor in the body," said Dr. Hirsch.

"Most believe that feeling satisfied is a mechanism that's centered in the stomach, but in reality, you feel full or satisfied because of a special mechanism in your brain that is stimulated when you taste specific flavors. The brain actually correlates the amount of food that you have eaten with the amount of taste you perceive."

" On average, the 92 overweight volunteers who completed the study lost 34 pounds over six months"

Will I be able to use the above mentioned quotes on my home page? And what specific acknowledgments should I include to keep it legal. Of course I will have to provide credit to Dr. Hirsch.

Thanks,
-Chad

Truthfully, I just scanned the page. So I really couldn't tell you exactly how it is.

As for the quote, track down where they got the quote from. If you put the doctor's name and a couple key words into google, you'll eventually find the study or document that site got the quote from.

I consider the rich jerk copy pure copy writing genious, however after so many "copy cat" sites that popped up, being called "Like rich jerk" could also mean the copy is bad???

Not sure how to take that, but thank you for your reply either way.

All the best,
-Chad

I also noticed a great improvement in the golfing site... great job Chad!

I hope you make a killing.

Thanks Steve! It's good to talk to you again.

Well a guess if the copy was bad I would have gotten many suggestions for improvement by now. lol

So I'm going to assume the copy is fine the way it is. I will add a little more "beef" as Vin suggested and press on with the marketing.

Thanks for all your help. This is one of my favorite forums, although I don't spend much time here... If I was smart, I'd spend a little less time with the Warriors and a little more time here.

Thanks again Copywriters,
-Chad
