I put up a (first draft) sales letter for a new product I have:

http://mp3tweak.com

I know I could beef up the sales letter and add some stuff, but I'm kind of wondering if I need to? The product does ONE thing and if you need it you already know that you do.

I'm not going to spend a lot of time changing this (it's for an el cheapo product, after all), but if you have any quickie suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Thanks.

Jay,

I wouldn't know whether I need that product or not. What makes you think that everyone likely to buy it already knows whether they need it or not? Surely I can do the same thing in Soundforge? So, therefore, if I'm techie enough to know that I need to do it, and I'm techie enough to know how to do it in Soundforge, then I don't need mp3 tweak.

Are you sure you're aiming at the right audience and are you sure there aren't other audiences who would need additional explanation e.g. what is bit rate etc.

Just my 2c.

Jane

Hmm...I dunno. I'm techie enough to do it in Soundforge (heck, don't tell anybody but I'm probably techie enough to use a hex editor and fiddle with the bytes to do it!) but I still find it a hassle to fire up "real" software just to do that one thing.

Yeah, so maybe I need to mention that. =:)

I guess I figured my target audience are people who are already putting audio on their web sites and would like a no-brainer way to make sure their audio files are dial-up friendly.

In which case I thought that if they got past the headline and into the copy they already knew the score.

Thanks. I'll look at it again tomorrow.
