Default Is This Worth Reading. - 09-11-2006, 04:36 PM

Hi,

I,ve been working all weekend on my copy after getting some great stuff off this forum.

I've come up with a few headlines , but would like some expert advice as to whether you think they would get people to read more.

My Target Market is U>K business owners, advertising in the yellow pages , they have a means of online contact -but no website.

Some of the reason why they don't have one - that i can think of - are:

They don't realize that a well thought out site (with copy) can increase sales and leads. or
Maybe when they were offered a site by the yellow pages for 600 pound a pop they though to hell with that - its a bad investment , too expensive, waste of money.
or maybe they think that business is going fine as is...
or maybe they are old school and like my friend believes big brother is watching...

If you have any more reason why a business would not have a site , please share them..it will really help me understand them


Anyway...

Here are the headlines -

NUMBER 1 --------------
Warning Small Business Owners:- Your Comptitor Are Probably (crossed out) Already On The Web Attracting The People Who Could (crossed out) Should Be Your Customers .....

How Every Business--Even a Hair Salon or Corner Store -- Can Easily,And Dramatically Increase Their Profits Using The Internet.


(what about adding 'stealing the people' - negative slant?? also how would you join them....FINALLY....)

Why don't you contact the small business owners and ask them directly? That way, you won't be guessing, you'll know the real reasons, and you can write your copy to REALLY zero in on overcoming their objections to having a website.
