Default My Conversion Rate Dumped! - 05-11-2006, 03:26 PM

Hi everyone.
First off, let me apologize for making this my first post. I usually like to participate and help out where I can but I am having a seriouse problem I need help with.

I launched my site about 2 months ago. At first it had close to a 10% conversion rate. Last month it was at about 4%.

This month it is at 0.5%

I have made some minor changes over time but I don't remember what I did.

If someone can tell me what is wrong please let me know.
The url is http://www.adsensebusinessinabox.com

Thanks in advance.

Tim

Hi welcome here;

so i make a visite to your web site and it is like others (i mean for the moment i can't give you some critics about what make it slow).

1) my connection is bad i know but i found your website making time to download.

2) using many picture as snapshot (or screen sample) are too much used by such website with less credibilty, this is much used.

you know i have to be honnest, no comment for the instant, so i read again your message (your post) :

this make it clear in my mind :

I usually like to participate and help out where I can

are you able to make this single sentence shine on your website?.

i think modestely that this is the key for success.

people will be always in need for help and will be glad to have some help.

hope that help.

The beginner.
(Time to take some actions)

You changed the Headline Tim. Its always the headline.
Write 40 to 50 headlines on scraps of paper.
Throw them on the floor and arrange them best to worst.
Pull out the most engageing and enthralling ones.
Save some of the others and re use them as sub heads.

Then pick a sub-head,
Then build a dynamyte first paragraph.

80% of your traffic will dissolve after reading that much text.
So make it count.

Is his OLD headline on waybackmachine or something? How'd you know it?

And... I do agree...

I would look at another thing: Source of traffic

If you're getting different types or quality of leads that certainly could impact it.

Thank you for the replies.
I will check my traffic stats from the past to see what the scoop is.

I don't think I changed the headline but I could be wrong.

I get a lot of visitors staying on the site for over 2 minutes - about 50% so I am not sure if it is the headline.

I don't know if it's your headline or not. But it should be rewritten anyway. It sucks and has a mistake (Unless you're from some country that speaks different english other than american english). It should be "A huge"... not "an huge..." I think. It also seems like you dropped headline capitalization when you got to the line "within hours of setup."

Not saying this is your problem, but it still should be fixed.

Well...he got tired doing "shift" "cap" way before that. You know it takes a lot out of you doing 35 word MEGAheadlines. (Is it being tired...or just bored with your own HEADline that makes you miss a cap?)

No one wants to buy software from an opened box.

Well my conversion rate soared.
James Brausch had a one day sale on a software product called Glyphius. It analyzes headlines. I ran some through it until I got a good scoring headline and now I'm getting a 5% rate again.

His software was on for $10. It usually goes for over $100.00.

Glad I bought it and thanks to those that offered CONSTRUCTIVE criticism - not the last few people.

Tim

You have to pretend that the customers only read the first 100 words or so.
Even if they Do read more....it sets the stage for the rest of the letter.
