As you can see, I've created a new forum for copywriting jobs and freelance writing opportunities. But before you dive in, there's a couple of things to note.

Job Seekers

Go through some of the postings and see if any of the jobs is a fit. Remember to use discretion! These jobs are pulled from a variety of RSS feeds, and are not reviewed for accuracy or legitimacy.

A couple of warnings...

Beware of contests (like writing contests) and membership sites. Many of these are scams or spambait. Remember to use your judgment. If it smells fishy, it probably is.

Also, I would strongly suggest not to join anything that requires payment for you to be employed.

In fact, you should not pay at all for any job offer. If you need to send money to join a site (not to search for jobs but to be employed), or to receive some information "kit" in the mail/email, it usually is a scam. Or close to it.

So be careful!

Job Providers

Do you have a need for a copywriter? Looking for someone to complete a freelance copywriting project? Post them here.

Please be specific. State the requirements, goals, pay structure (or if it's negotiable) and/or budget, and timeframe. The more information you provide, the greater the response you will receive.

Do not spam this forum!

Also, please refrain from posting anything misleading, inaccurate, illegal, unethical, or immoral in any jurisdiction.

(This includes jobs involving content related to violence, porn, spam, firearms, deceitful business practices, illegal schemes, and others.)

As you might have noticed, there's a new forum in town. It's called "Copywriting Jobs," and it posts new freelance copywriting opportunities from a variety of job sites, RSS Feeds and even directly from members of Copywriters Board.

Before you dive in, be sure to read the initial post first:

In it, there are some important guidelines and warnings for both job seekers and job posters.

By the way, you may have also noticed that there are already over 4-5 pages of posts. That's because, when the board fetched the RSS feeds and postings for the first time, it went as far back as the last 25 posts for each feed.

(This can make some of the job offers a bit outdated since some posts go as far back as July!)

So I apologize for the inconvenience. Simply click on "thread tools" within the forum, or "quick links" at the top, and then "mark forums read." It will mark all the threads in that forum as read.

And please note, this is just for the first time. Post frequency should be only two-five times a week at most. I'm not 100% sure, but we'll see. If it becomes too unwieldy, I will use special filters to cut down the number.

If you have copywriting projects, or if you're looking for a copywriter, that's the forum to post them in!

I second that... great new feature to the board.

For those temporarily overwhelmed or just not interested in the current listings (and to clear your "new posts" selections), go to the link above entitled "quick links" and chose "mark forums read". This should clear out all the posts in the "new posts" category and get you back to new postings.

I too think it's a good idea. Gets those starting out, a little work. I have one complaint and it may just be me... and also may not be fixable...

When I visit the board I usually just click on "new posts." Now when I do that, the vast majority of posts, are these jobs. I have "marked all read" 3 times today, but the sheer volume of these jobs posts means that everytime I visit the board and click that, I have to go through at least a page of new posts before getting to the discussion threads.

Is there anyway to make it where they don't come up on a "new threads" search? Or if they could come up AFTER the real threads?

I agree. I also use the "new posts" feature, but right now it's flooded with pages of these listings (makes it difficult to find the "real" discussion threads).

If these can't be separated from all the rest, then perhaps there's a way to identify these by giving them a different color background.

I wouldn't mind seeing a $25 or $50 fee to post a job. It would help ensure those seeking copywriters are at least semi serious.

I like this idea too but a quick glance indicates that these are clients who want cheap labor.

Will this create an impression that this is another elance sweatshop-type website?

I am just raising the question, btw, not forming an opinion one way or the other...

I wouldn't mind seeing a minimum project fee...like no projects for under $800.
