Default John Carlton's copywriting course - 06-18-2003, 04:20 PM

Have any of you bought and completed John Carlton's course on copywriting? Is it worth it?

Yup. Love it. Love it. Love it.

The tapes are great. Three 3-ring binders are filled with down-and-dirty copy tips. The "Power Words" reference guide is awesome. But if you're looking for substance, real meat, the value is truly in his "swipe file," John's collection of ads, salesletters and whatnots.

Priceless stuff.

In terms of the course, it's very good. Some stuff is common sense. BUT, a lof tiny "nuggets of gold" are really, really worth it. John's "nuggets," like Gary Halbert and Dan Kennedy, are right to the point, "go for the jugular" stuff. No tip-toeing. Sugar coating not included.

So, if you're offended by the occasional profanity, brutal, honest reality copywriting, to paraphrase Kennedy, "this ain't gonna do nothing for you!"

Thanks, Michel. I'm in awe of Halbert, and an inner circle member of Kennedy's, so I don't think the language will bother me.

Same here. And this is the same kind of stuff. Very straightforward. Very real. Very straight to the point -- no fluff, no history lessons.

I have it. It's killer. The collected letters is worth twice the price of the whole thing. And his newsletter is excellent too.

Hi there,

I also have John's course, which is great.

If you have the fungolas, I'd highly recommend the "Insider's Club" option.

It's not cheap, but having personal email access to John is virtually priceless. His responses are speedy, and way more in-depth than I would have expected. His feedback helped me double my conversion rate, which has certainly made me a happy chappy

By the way, I'm also super-impressed Carl Galletti's Protege program, which you can find at www.copycoach.com (even though I'm only part-way through). Again ... big bucks ... but it's all about return-on-investment, is it not?

Cheers
Blair.

Thanks you guys.

This is very helpful information. I've been debating the purchase of John C.'s course for months. Then, I got stuck in the "which level should I buy" debate, and so have done nothing.

This will light a fire.

Peter,

John's course is definitely top shelf. It is designed for those
that want to write copy that produces instead of making the
client feel entertained.

His Rant newsletters are also packed with information to use.

John made a full year's worth of his Marketing Rebel Rant
available for free. I don't know how long it will be up, however
you can access this free resource at

http://www.marketingrebelrant.com/

Hope this helps,
