I too use mindjet.

Many copywriters do.

I write a LOT of copy but certainly do not
consider myself a copywriter, nor will I ever do so!

Mindjet is the tool that made the mindmaps
that Michel speaks so highly of on his blog.

http://michelfortin.com/archives/200...irpo.html#more

If you sign up, you will get mindmaps from Eugene Schwartz's work,
from John Carleton's seminars, a GREAT Yannik Silver mindmap,
and even my humble contribution mapping many many dozens of
creative, imaginative, and unusual ways to use free offers, and
the word FREE in your copy.

PS... if Michel likes these mindmaps, maybe they're good eh?

I've been meaning to reply to this thread but had kind of lost track.

Ken - I can't thank you enough for pointing me in the direction of this software. It is a total revolution in how I work. Not just for copy, but for quickly rigging up website structures, and basically dealing with any ideas and the associated notes.

I wish someone had mentioned this 18 months ago when I asked what tools copywriters use for organising their notes and ideas. The only recommendation I got was for some software called Egems, which didn't really fit the way I work and was just money down the toilet. This tool is amazing and my productivity has increased already - thank you so much!

Hi Ken,

Finally downloaded this great tool. It's fantastic.

When I was in collage before we started to use computers as much, I rewrote all my notes using mind maps like this with pen and paper. The theories of Kartz and Sarte covered my bedrooms walls on big sheets.

And taking only half the time and work of most other students who read through all the materials and books, I often got way better grades. Because mind maps are exactly the map of the mind and helped me think faster.

After all my work became computerized, I stopped doing this. But now I'm back in business. Already started setting up one site using the mind map.

Thanks for pointing this out Ken you are always very helpful,

Christian

Do any of you think the x5 Pro version is worth the jump in cost over the regular x5 version?

Also, has anyone found a really good price for this product? I know the manufacturer charges more than many of their licensed resellers.

Hi Moose,

I got my version from www.iaresearch.com - it's got quite a big discount and comes with a free export to excel module.

Thanks Jane!

I actually found a cheap way to get x5 Pro. I found an old copy of mindmanager 2002 Standard Edition for sale....bought it for $10......now I can upgrade to x5 Pro for $96.......

I did alot of reading and it seems that the x5 version lacks alot of the features of the 2002 version......people have complained......so the best bet is to get the x5 pro.....

To each their own though. HTH.

Moose,

Interesting. How can you get an old copy? I thought once you'd bought sofware you couldn't sell it again? And anyway, now I'm annoyed cos I paid $279 + VAT

I've been a beneficiary of Harlan's mind maps as I've been studying the craft. I thought I might be able to use the technique to organize my own thinking and copywriting.

But woe is me! I'm all tapped out from buying all the wonderful courses and other resources that will soon have the money flowing in... I hope.

Luckily, I found a free mind mapper, FreeMind at http://freemind/sourceforge.net It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the good stuff, but it's working very well for me.

All --

This is just to agree with the previous post.

I found FreeMind, and after having tested out MindJet, I can honestly say that for my purposes, it isn't worth paying the extra dollars to buy MJ.

It's a super product, but I believe I can do what I need to do well with FreeMind.
