Default pricing email copy sent to opt in customers - 07-24-2007, 02:55 PM

I did a search on this and can't find pricing information. Can anybody who has done this give me an idea of your pricing structure. A client wants one and I haven't figured out how to price it.

thanks

I don't "hire out" as a copywriter... but here's what I've seen. (will suggest some "working" copywriters answer this too)

Long copy letters -- $2500 to $50,000 -- plus royalties, etc
Email Autoresponders - $2000 to $10,000
Catalogue Copy -- $100+++ per block
Articles $100+++

If you have someone just asking for a "price list" -- personally that would disturb me a bit.

Seems you would want to ask them some pointed questions about what they're looking for, what they're trying to accomplish, price point of their product, strategy driving the sales process and what part your copy will play in that process. Turnaround too.

You can get a better feel for EXACTLY what they need... then you can quote them a rate.

Suzanne--it depends. I know of people who charge $50 each for an autoresponder message and those who charge $350 each.

Here's a rulle of thumb--figure out what your "hourly" rate is, then how long it will take you to write each message, and go from there.

Autoresponders are priced in volume 2:

Copywriting Rates Volume 2

Volume one has pricing on e-mails too:

thanks guys! client hasn't asked me for a price yet. I wanted to get some info before I return his phone call.

I've never written an email offer for a client before.

Hi Suzanne,

I base my pricing on a variety of factors, such as whether it's a new or existing client or whether it's a one-shot deal or an entire series of e-mails, but in general I charge between $200 - $400 for these.

Hope that helps,
Sue

thanks Sue--I'm guessing my final assessment will in that same price range.

Oh wow, I didn't even notice your location before! I used to work in Newton; I think that's up your way.
