Default squeeze page or opt in form in the sale letter - 07-14-2007, 11:05 AM

wondering what the thoughts would be to eliminate the squeeze page and instead place the opt in form (example = 7 day free course offer) somewhere in the sales letter while they are reading?

why? eliminating the squeeze page so when doing ppc campaigns to avoid low quality score

my concern would be that it would distract the buyer while he is in the middle or reading the sales letter...

or would you guys recommend still using the squeeze page regardless?

thanks

1 action per page is the normal guideline, else you dilute the power of each element. But you can test different variations and see what works.

e.g. If you put the opt-in on the salesletter you can have the thank you page of the opt-in redirect to the exact point in the salesletter they left, which can help with continuity.

You could probably even do some tricky web 2.0 stuff where they don't even leave your page when they opt-in, depending on the autoresponder software you're using etc. Haven't seen this done yet but I'm pretty sure it can be done.
