Default Gary Halbert Has Passed Away - 04-10-2007, 01:16 AM

I am sad to report that the great Gary Halbert passed away a few hours ago.

I have been learning from Gary since I was 15 years old. I was very blessed to call Gary MY FRIEND. I was fortunate to really get to know the man really well during the past few years.

He will definitely be missed.

Gary was one of the greatest marketers ever.

The beauty of his life is that his work will continue to help and teach budding marketers and copywriters for many many years to come -- probably forever.

Wow I don't know what to say.... he was brilliant... I was reading one of his letters from many years ago just yesterday and was thinking how timely his words were.

The other day, Shawn and I were going out the door and I happened to take a look at the "Sidwell Coat of Arms" her dad bought ages ago. In the bottom right corner, it says "Halbert."

I smiled.

A first, I thought the above headline was a prank and I looked at the thread just to see what this eye-grabbing headline was about.

Now that I see that this is no joke, I am stunned.

Do any of you know the cause of Gary's death? How old was Gary?

I can't speak; fortunately, I can type.

Damn, the alpha sh**weasel is gone. I was looking forward to reading more of
his rants...until today.

Not anymore. I'll miss him, too, and I'll miss the sh**weasel label.

Rest in peace, alpha sh**weasel. Yeah, we know you're smiling from heaven.

(For those who don't get this, Gary loved calling his subscribers sh**weasels.)

Damn,

That's some real ****ty news.

I landed upon Gary's site my very first day I inquired
about internet marketing online. The discovery of his
site changed my life almost instantaneously and I'm so
grateful that it was his site I landed on.

I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to spend a short
amount of time with Gary and will never forget the dinner
shared with him and his son Bond.

The guy was a legend and will surely be missed by many.

I remember when John Lennon was shot and waking up that morning to hear a radio program presenter say "Somehow it seems inappropiate to say Good Morning."

What a shock.

Only printed off his last Envelope to file away last week because it is so good.
I didn't know him personally. But I emailed him a couple of times asking his opinion about some pieces I'd written. (heck he said one was good) so he came across as a genuine character.

What's more the word ****weasel is now being used across Cornwall thanks to him....

Gary Halbert. Legend. Marketing Genius.

RIP
