Default Google Adwords - 06-14-2003, 06:18 AM

I wondered if anyone out there has had decent success with Google Ad words. I have tried them , changed the copy within them a zillion times and feel if the results havent been there. Truth is I only saw my own ad a couple of times although the account went down. Results with copy in Adwords, share them.

Have you tried putting your keywords in [brackets]?

Makes it so they have to type in your exact phrase for the ad to come up.

Also - what's the market? I use Google AdWords exclusively so I might be able to help.

Yes, Google is very powerful. In fact, more powerful than any PPC out there, bar none.

But like anything it takes work to make it work properly.

Even for very competitive areas, if you persist at tweaking and testing your ads and keyword terms, you can still make it pay off. Too bad the other PPC's don't catch on and make their own systems function like Google.

Google can produce a good return on your investment. But you must precisely target your keywords and you must constantly monitor your campaign to ensure that you can identify your click through rate.

If you are getting a good click through rate but low sales, then look very closely at techniques to improve your sales conversion rate.

Take care

John

Hi Alan and all,

I cast my vote for Adwords as well, we have used them on numerous occasions, and with a little keyword tracking and focus, we have seen constant and profitable CR%.

HOWEVER, my last campaign brought in an attrocious CR% (1/10th of a percent... arghhh!) no matter what I did - and I KNOW that my page is selling with supposedly similar traffic, with Google organic search (with many, many different keywords being used), THE SAME EXACT PAGE is bringing in 8% - that's 80 TIMES BETTER!! This is with a sample of well over 1000 visitors. I'm not exaggerating. My partners and I have a lot of experience in these matters and we admit to being baffled in this case... I simply dropped Adwords.

Please don't ask me about Overture or Espotting, I don't feel like swearing this early in the morning...

Have a good week,

Tim
