| Recent Price Point Testing? -

If you're willing to share, does anyone have results from price point tests they've run within the last 6 months? Or even up to a year?
For example, does "rounding" the price up or down, i.e. to $39 rather than $39.95 pull best?
Or ending your price point with "7" pull a higher response than with "9" or ".95" if adding cents to the price?
If so, better results in rounding it to say, $47 or, to include it in the "cents" to $49.97?
And lastly, Gary (Halbert) once wrote of price ceilings...and...wondering if any of you have tested this. For example, if you're going to raise your price from, say, $19.95...it's best to skip $29.95 and raise it to $39.95 instead because there's not much resistance inbetween.
And, if I recall correctly, the next price "ceiling" he had from $39.95 was all the way to $69.95...and from there to $99, I believe.
But this was years ago (maybe many?) when he wrote this, and wondering if any recent testing has been done, and new price ceilings established? Or, if it's still an accurate phenomenon.
I'll be setting up a mini-site to sell an ebook, and of course, will be price-testing along with other elements. But any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated before I begin my own tests.
Thanks! |
