Default Quantity vs Quality...? - 01-24-2007, 02:42 PM

I'm talking about SEO in general and getting traffic to your site...not really keeping them there. Would it be better to have a bunch of OK articles written or a few quality articles? The reason I ask is I can pay the same amount for 20-30 articles from one of those offshore places or 4-5 from real copywriters.

You want to get traffic to your site but you don't want to keep it? I find that a little strange. Don't you want to make something good?

The better your content is, the more links to your site you will garner, thus enhancing your SEO efforts.

My money is on paying somebody a good price for getting good copy.

If you have a good marketing funnel in place, here are some things you should be focusing on:

The highlighted figures are just example numbers I threw in, but they are also the figures you have some degree of control over, either directly or indirectly.

Obviously the only way to determine those values is to try both approaches and test them, tracking the numbers in that grid.

I write SEO and quality is key. One site I write for is ranked number one on Google. It costs less to keep a customer than to gain a new one. Why would you scrimp on quality? The customers who buy from this site are looking for high quality. Part of the enticement is in the language. My client won't accept mediocre copy. Of course, everyone has their own perspective and results can vary, depending on your market. As you know, it's best to test.

I think you're unclear on what it is that copywriters actually do.

Article writing and copywriting are not the same and it wouldn't make any sense to hire a copywriter to write articles.
