Tom,

There is no #1 book. If someone touted one to you as the #1... run like hell!

Get everything. Don't play with your education. You'll always get a greater return on knowledge than the price invested. Instead, on this board, somewhere, this topic has been covered extensively... I think twice even. Use the search, you'll find gold in them there links.

Ha Ha Zachary

Sorry I’m not laughing at you, just weird I was just reading a reply that you had made to another comment.

I don’t think you understood my question so let me explain...

I know that anyone who says "here’s the #1 book on x, y and z" is talking BS but all I wanted to know is what do you guys recommend. What books have you read? What has really helped you?

I am dead serious about being the greatest when it comes to writing copy. But I am only at the foot of Everest I still need to climb it (Ok I know I should have slipped that extremely predictable metaphor in but I could resist )

Ok so Zachary thanks for the reply. Anyone got any suggestions???

Tom.

If you're just starting out...

"How to write a good advertisement- A short course in copywriting" by Vic Schwab.

Then... anything by Joe Sugarman.

Those are my choices.

Here's a good list from Bob Bly:
