Default Price point, $0.95, $0.99, $1.00 ? - 01-22-2007, 04:06 PM

Which looks better, more attractive?

$0.95 or 95 Cents
OR
$0.99 or 99 Cents
OR
$1.00 or One Dollar.

I'm thinking the One Dollar. When you hear Only 1 dollar it just seems really cheap...well to me anyways. Has a better ring than 95/99 cents.

I'm thinking a price point of $100 is better lol

You'll probably have to test to see what's best. A lot of people recommend .97 as a price point

Alot of IMers recommend the 7's, I think it's played out.

I would go with .95 or .99 and then test 1.00.

Yeah, I wish $100. I'm betting on quantity, this is per reservation for hotels/motels and B&B's. Trying to find which sounds better when selling in print,

"Only 99 Cents per reservation"
"Each additional reservation only $1.00!"

I guess 95/99 does sound pretty cheap too...makes the accounting worse though.

Direct mail guru Melvin Powers swore by round dollar amounts. Don't think I ever got any of his stuff that wasn't a whole dollar (e.g. $20).

Of course, that research was a long time ago. Whether today's savvy consumer is fooled by a .95, .97, .99, etc. is the question. Anything modern beyond speculation would be interesting to know.

Regards,

-Mike
