Default Gary Halbert And Michel Fortin - 11-18-2004, 02:01 AM

Well, thanks to Peter Stone (thank you, Peter), I'm gearing up for a teleseminar I will be conducting with the great Gary Halbert. A mentor and teacher.

But I need your help.

What kind of questions would you like to ask the 'King of Copy'? Your input is invaluable to me. Go there now and fire away. (And it doesn't have to be about copywriting, too. It could be about marketing as well or any question you may have for Gary Halbert.)

Go now ...

There's no guarantee about the product. But your questions will certainly help

You bet, you're welcome, Michel.

This is coming together a little more casually than what you might think. It hasn't taken months of dedicated planning, so I could really use some... "HELP!"

Remember, you can ask any level of question. If you're new to copywriting or marketing, don't think you can't contribute. You certainly can. There are many other newbies out there who can be helped by any question you might ask.

And for those who have more experience; show your stuff, get unstuck or whatever is on your mind would be great to hear.

Thanks,

Peter Stone

Hi Michael and Peter,

Do you have a solid date as to when the interview will take place and/or when the product will be ready?

The reason why I'm asking is that my schedule is bursting right now and I'll have to do some juggling to fit it in if it's a teleseminar

Thanks

Paul Short

I just realized something that disturbes me...

Michel, I've been spelling your name wrong for months now. I've been using "Michael" rather than "Michel".

My sincere apologies!

Paul Short

It doesn't disturbe one bit. I call myself "Michael" for years -- and my parents (who spoke French) always nicknamed me "Mike" or "Michael"

Plus, when you say "Michel" English Canadians know it's male (it's missing the "e" at the end, which is like Italian "a" and no "e" which is like "o" ... like Gina and Gino).

But to most Americans, "Michel" sounds like a female name. So I prefer "Michael" anyway.

Thanks Michel, that makes me feel a lot better

BTW, I blogged about the interview you're doing with Gary Halbert, and of course I signed up with my question as well. I couldn't let an opportunity like that slip by without at least trying.

Thanks,

Paul Short

Michel,

Parce que j'apprenais francais longtemps, je trouve que c'est triste que vous preferez "Michael" de "Michel".

Boo hoo. You are not "Mike FoRTIN" to me, you are Michel Fortin (pronounced Fohr...tan).

Quel dommage - c'est parce que je suis Anglaise (seulement 30 kilometres par-delà la mer de la France), et pas anglophone comme les americains.

Jane

PS I would ask Gary Halbert what he knows about buyer decision making processes and how his style of copy addresses them. Can his style be ported to the corporate selling situation?
