| What do you think about a benefit packed WARNING! or disclaimer? -

Hi all,
I was messing around with my copy tonight and thought one part might benefit from a warning or disclaimer. I tend to think they can be a bit corny, but I know on at least one occasion I felt very persuaded.
The one line I'll never forget when I was overweight was something like "Warning: This product is not intended to be used to lose too much weight. Although this method is safe, follow the directions or you could become too thin. Please keep a careful eye on the amount of weight you do lose and contact a doctor immediately if find you are losing too much weight."
Here's the one I wrote this evening: Disclaimer: Charisma is a powerful skill that can cause others to give gifts, money or form feelings of attraction to you. As such, this recording is not to be used to control or take advantage of anyone else. The information is intended to improve your interpersonal relations only. Care should be taken to avoid influencing people too much.
I was wondering if there was a consensus or stats on whether these warnings convert in Internet Sales Letters?
The benefit packed warning has to be one of my favorite parts of copywriting - they're so fun to write. What do you think about them? |
