Just saw something about this posted at the Warrior Forum and thought I'd pass it along. I guess it just launched today.

club

There's a link at the bottom about applying to become part of his copywriting team. That may be a great chance for some of you who are looking for clients to get some work and build a portfolio.

Just a little FYI...

According to their site, their "platinum" level contains the "highest paid copywriters in the biz" and they're writing long copy for 4 grand.

Hmmmm... I smell something funny.

Michel... you're a platinum level guy in my book. You writing letters for 4k now? Didn't think so.

It feels like there are going to be a bunch of guys you've never heard of listed as their "platinum" writers.

My thoughts exactly. I'm anxious to see where one particular copywriter is placed because I'm almost certain he'll be a platinum when I know that in reality, he's a silver at best.

Default Nothing Fishy There... - 11-03-2006, 06:45 PM

Greetings,

I've got some info on Dr. Mike's club. Basically, they are targeting the online marketers who either can't afford or won't pay $4K and up for the bigger named copywriters.

While under $4K won't hire an "A" list copywriter like Harlan Kilstein or Mike Fortin, it can hire a copywriter who is an up and comer looking to build their portfolio. Or a copywriter savvy enough to convert lousy copy into an above average performer.

And let's face it: there's plenty of lousy copy to be found on the web.

They have a pool of copywriters that have agreed to take assignments at the fee schedule which Dr. Mike's club has set.

For more info, you need to contact Eric Louviere or Dr. Mike directly and they'll give you the exact terms for copywriters.

Hope this helps,

Mike Humphreys

Mike,

My problem isn't copywriters writing for 4K or less. I work for 4K.

My problem is the "club" pretty much calling the 4K writers the big shots.... the best guys. And they truly are not. The guys who agreed to write for 4K are guys at my level. This is not honest.

While I consider myself good... I don't consider myself anything close to "platinum." (give me 6 more months) Gold... maybe. And the "gold" writers are writing letters for a hundred bucks less than I got for my first client letter.

Silver level... these must truly be monkeys with typewriters.

I've never said this before, but I really predict failure on a massive scale with this one.

Hey Vin,

Dr. Mike is no dummy.

He wouldn't keep guys in the club if they weren't
satisfying the clients.

And of course they are going to call themselves
"The Best in the Biz" or whatever jargon they used.

I wouldn't expect you to say your a mediocre copywriter
writing for $4,000.

I'd expect you to say your one of the best in the biz at
what you do, and nobody writes "Story" copy like Vin Montello.

Jason,

I know Dr. Mike is not playing around. I know he's going to put a big push into this. I'm just not sure the people are going to be getting the bargain they think they are getting.

They're going to be paying $4000 for $4000 copy. They're not getting some wild discount from what these "upper tier" writers normally charge (Which is what he's sorta implying).

I would normally just wish him the best of luck and forget about it. But this time, I'm watching cautiously and skeptically.
