Default Freelancers vs. The Employed - 10-30-2006, 11:03 AM

Hey everyone,

I'm fairly new to this board, but I've been impressed with how much great information everyone contributes on a regular basis. I wish I had found this site sooner.

I have a quick question for all of you, for my own reference.

Are you a freelancer, or are you employed by an agency (or other company) for copywriting?

I realize that many of you are freelancing full-time, but I'm curious to see if there are others, like myself, who are working for an agency, writing copy for projects beyond online sales letters.

Thanks everyone. I look forward to reading your response.

-Mike

Welcome aboard Mike!

I've been an agency writer for the past few years... but have decided to take a step out into the freelance world.

With that being said, my first project as a freelancer was an online article for a Cincinnati ad agency (written for one of their clients' e-newsletters).

I've yet to write a sales letter, but hope to do so soon.

That's my story... hopefully others on here will reply to your thread as well.

Good luck Mike.

In a position very similar to yours: working for an agency, doing all manner of projects, and curious about what else might be out there....
