Default Those of you who publish an ezine... - 10-11-2006, 01:55 AM

I'm curious...

If, as a copywriter I publish an ezine that other copywriters subscribe to, where's the business value other than the indirect one of spreading the word on my existence?

And then we all end up having an ezine and subscribe to each others ezines and ..... I'm sure I'm missing something here.

Please enlighten me, if you will

- You get a lot of direct business from your ezine (what percentage, roughly?)

- Your subscribers spread the word about your abilities and wisdom and someday someone contacts you because of that.

- you just feel like teaching, who cares about business.

- I'm a BIG moron who can't see the 800 pound orange gorilla sitting on my front yard.

It'd probably be best for picking up clients if you focused advertising your ezine to business owners rather than copywriters. I believe a lot of people on this board and others who are interested in writing better copy - still hire copywriters to get the job done when they need it.

Interesting question Nadin.

I publish an ezine but I've found that my subscribers don't use my service and
my customers don't optin for the ezine. Can't explain it really. If someone
optin at my page I can be almost sure s/he'll not hire me. ( I think that
only 2 of my clients are subscribed to my newsletter.)

And I seldom send out offers to me list so if I killed my newsletter I'm sure
that it will not affect my business either way.

Maybe other copywriters have a different expereince. (BTW, I don't use a
squeeze page.)

If your ezine is focused on the copywriting and marketing connection, then you'll have marketers subscribing to your ezine as well.

Consider a blog and ezine combo...copywriters & marketers do scout for talent by reading blog posts.

So, I'd say there would be value either way.
