After following Michel's thread "Copywriter's Productivity Tools" I wanted to post about a tool... err, I should probably call it a guide, which helps me gain insight on different consumers and the way they think and communicate.
The tool I use can be found at a great blog called
Manager Tools. It is a free downloadable PDF called the "DiSC Model" - which describes four different types of people, and how we should communicate with them. (Manager-Tools.com is a blog/podcast aimed at managers... but I found value as a copywriter nonetheless).
This tool is great for insight into how people, who are not like ourselves, interpret different messages.
I'll tell you, this "DiSC Model" on
Manager Tools and Michel's blog post "Does Your Copy Have Personality?" are hands down my favorite two tools to use to gain insight on people that aren't like me.
Do you all have any other tools, guides, blogs or websites you use to get a feel for how different people interpret info and communicate?
Thanks,
Nick Wright
