Default Grabbers and Copy - 10-02-2006, 04:05 PM

Has anyone used grabbers in any of their direct mail campaigns?

I'm considering the use of a grabber in a future project however I've never worked with them. I know where to purchase the grabber I'm interested in.

What I don't know is who attaches them to the letters?

Do I just need to find a printer who specializes in direct mail, send them the grabber and they handle it. Or do they fulfill the order, ship it to me, I attach the grabber and then mail?

I thought I would ask here before I got on the phone and called every direct mail house I can find and ask them.

Thanks,
MikeC

Fulfillment houses do good work. A fulfillment house essentially does everything from helping you with list selection to attaching things like grabbers to letters. You'll want to check around, perhaps do test mailings to find out which one is good in your area. Ideally you'll get a "go to" person in charge of your account.

Printers on the other hand are a little more hit-and-miss.

Hi

I emailed Gary Halbert last week about grabbers.

I'm using a grabber (a coin) an intriguing headline and a photograph...

...And I wasn't sure if it made it all too cluttered.

Gary's advice? Use all three.

And send him a photo of the redhead.. I cracked up.

cheers mark
