Default Sample pages inside a sales letter - 08-23-2006, 06:04 PM

Hi gang. I've got a client right now who selling a seduction course (I know, I know... there are plenty) but inside his old sales letter he has a couple links to read a few pages of the course.

Instinct tells me this is a no no. (Should be no other links on the sales page) but does anyone know if something like this works for this market? I want to just ignore it and not put it in my letter, but can I gain anything from it?

Don't know about seduction, but i think you're right about 86'ing the links.
Either give them a bullet and page number, or if you decide you need to include the material, put it as a pop-up, so when they click away, your sales page is still on the screen.

HTH.

Yeah, I'm really leaning against keeping it in. I already have one popup link I'm putting at the bottom of the page. It's 15 pages of testimonials that I couldn't fit in the letter.

Vin,

If you're going to give a link to read the first chapter, or whatever, at least open it in a new window.

A better course of action is to make them opt in to read the first 1 to 3 chapters, or whatever content you have to offer.

Then they get a taste of the content, and they're still in in your target market. Plus they are prospects on your list.

But by all means, test. I could tell you to do X, based on my results. But you may find that it doesn't work for you. So test and discover what DOES work for you.

But you already know that. (Sorry I don't have a revolutionary tactic for you to use, but you probably weren't expecting such). In fact, soon you'll be telling US what works for you and what doesn't. Even if I told you that X works, you would probably test it on your own, and good for you! You should, and you will.

John

Thanks John.

He does have an optin box on his page where he gives away a couple "bonus reports" and some audio. I'm actually thinking of instead, using those bonuses in the offer, and maybe give them an optin to read those chapters.

I think that would be the wisest choice. Kill the links and just give them a half a chapter a day for a week for joining the opt in list.

Why bother feeding them other products that may satisfy their needs when you could be using that opt in list to give them a taste of the product and constantly pitching the sale at them over the next week or so.

Just my 2 cents
