Hi Edward,
If I were you, I would choose a copywriter who's style you like and who have written kick butt sales letters repeatedly. For me personally, it was Dan Kennedy as I could relate to how he wrote and by doing the handwriting exercise, it simply sunk in for me.
One of my very successful customers who is now getting amazing results with his copy also listens to MP3's of Dan Kennedy and myself, played on fast forward while he's sleeping. Subliminally it's working very well for him.
There are so many great copywriters out there, you know how they are and I do not need to rattle them off here.
Good luck with your copywriting . . . you will succeed.

PS. Thanks for your comments too.
I am a student of copywriting and I hand write atleast 2 classics from the Greatest Sales Letter every day.
I am doing it from this February and as everyday passes I enjoy the process more and more.
Trevor Crook, the legendary copywriter from Down Under, in his blog suggests writing atleast 20 times.
Now, I am coming to you as some of the very senior and experienced Copywriters & Marketers, to suggest what you consider the Top 10 or 20 or even 25 letters which a beginner can write by hand.
Yes I am serious about my Copywriting carreer and am not afraid of writing this many times by hand.
I just bought Million Dollar Mailings from ebay and eagerly waiting for it to reach me. I am also an AWAI student.
I am telling this to help people to identify the letters I can write. or you can give me the URLs & pdf files so that I can print it out and write.
I really appreciate the leaders who gather here and their time,
Sincerely,
Edward
