Default Anyone use MultiTrack Generator? - 06-13-2006, 01:57 PM

Hey y'all,

Anyone here use Armand's MutiTrack Generator?

What are your thoughts on it? Pros? Cons?

Is it easy for a non-techie to set up and use?

Cheers,

Michael

what I do to test, which is easy, is to get several similar-sounding domains (eg plural vs singular name, or minor variations), and have them track via adwords with different purchase codes.

that way, I can test many variables like video vs no video, long letter vs short letter format, and many other variations ... major variants instead of minor variants. headline a vs b is interesting to test, but I prefer dramatic, major differences in testing variables, eg long letter/short letter, price on same page vs separate page, with video or without video, testimonial boxes format a vs b.. so major personality differences ... Then drill down to test minor factor variables like headline a vs b... a funnel approach.

Interesting. Is there a reason you do it that way as opposed to using split-testing software?

honestly, it's mostly because the software seems too difficult to set up for me.
many of my copywriters tell me the same thing... also, some of the software requires zend to be installed on your unix box, and "phones home" which I don't like.

also, I want to have more flexibility in making large changes to sites that go beyond what simpler split-test scripts can accomodate.

Ken,

Have you looked into Kaizentrack.com?

I've seen some amazing results achieved using it.

thanks - I'll take a look - I like the salesletter. I'd need to know more re specific system requirements/how it works ... good thing I'm a statistician, I actually understand the video...

I did my master's thesis on Kaizen (superb book my M. Imai).

There's actually tutorials you get when you purchase. You load it on your server. I think it's php based.

In essence, you log in, change the creative you want to test, and it splits it for you. But wait there's more...

With this you can apply the multi variant taguchi testing method, all on multiple aspects of things you want to test. So in essence, you create something like 18 creatives because you're testing A/B:

Headline
subhead
lead
bullet blocks
offer
guarantee
ps's
etc.

I couldn't explain the math to you, but there's some unique algorithim that eliminates the need for a classic A/B split.

I went to a great seminar in Vegas about a month back for this stuff. Guys name was David Bullock. Well worth every cent.

I just picked up a copy on MultiTrack and would be interested to hear from anyone who has used both MultiTrack Generator AND KaizenTrack.

I'll let you know my feelings on MTG after I've messed around with it for awhile.

Cheers,

Mike

Howdy,

I've been using MTG for a few weeks now, and have noticed a real improvement in conversions based on using the best-testing elements in my salesletter.

My question is this: Are all Taguchi programs like this created equal? Is the math that is working "behind the scenes" identical in MTG and Kaizentrack (or others)?

If not, does one use 'better' formulas vs. another? Would there be any way to tell? Or would you say this is largely academic, and that all of these programs will do a pretty good job of running Taguchi tests?

Thanks!

Michael
