I had a prospective client who asked me several times if I wrote a certain
salescopy after he spoke to me. Although he never said it I know that
my "foreign" accent didn't recommend me to qualify to write that kind
of copy.
Ray L., | I don't doubt that's true, but I bet it depends on the accent. I've heard people with British or Australian accents say it actually helps them make sales.
Interesting how prejudices work.

I've been living in the US, mainly New York City, for 12 years and just recently
moved to Florida to get some accustomed sun! Interestingly enough my
speech is so much clearer when I preach than in any other situation.
Working from home has its disadvantages in that I don't talk as much
so I lose my 'flow'. When I was teaching high school and college I flowed
in my speech because I was always in practise.
I have to get out of this rut and do some teleseminars and videos to
get the juices flowing again.
