Default What makes this guy's newsletter so irresistible? - 04-17-2006, 11:24 AM

Clayton Makepeace has done it again! Released his Monday morning newsletter.

Just like he does every week.

If you don't already read it, I'll give you a link to get to it in a minute.

But I have a question...

What makes Makepeace's newsletter so irresistible? Why... among all the things in my in-box, do I gravitate to his email every time he releases another one?

I have a few ideas -- and I'll share them here. But, I want your comments. Especially if you've been reading for several weeks or more.

5 Reasons why I think his newsletter is irresistible:

1) He comes across as an authority. OK, lots of guys try this... but he seems to be able to back it up. He mentions this client or that client. And, I believe him. Truth or not... I believe him. I want to believe him. (BTW: I think it's really true... oh yeah... I said that)

2) Each newsletter is PACKED with value. Every single issue just piles on the information, ideas, techniques, stories, strategies, etc.

3) I never get the idea that he's HOLDING BACK. In not one single issue do I get the, "Oh, but if you were paying me to learn this... you'd get the full story." (we've all experienced that)

4) Speaking of stories... he packs his newsletters with real-world stories and examples. For me, that's a great way to learn. Yeah... I want the techniques and the tips -- but tell me how it's been applied and how it's worked... and I can figure out ways I can use it.

5) He's consistent. Every Monday. Like clockwork... He's there.

6) (BONUS) -- He comes across as genuine. Maybe that's why I want to believe him. I don't "feel" the hype that you get from so many other "teachers and gurus" on the internet.

What do you think?

Let's hear your comments on why you think Clayton Makepeace's newsletter is so irresistible!

(Oh yeah... here's the link to this week's newsletter: http://www.makepeacetotalpackage.com...s/ezine39.html )

I couldn't agree with you more JP - your 5 reasons are right on the money!

I just signed up for Clayton's newsletter about a week or so ago and can only say that I wish I discovered them earlier! He really does provide a tremendous amount of value in each newsletter and today's topic on headlines was no exception.

I agree about Clayton's newsletter, but this particular issue is recycled. I don't think this was intended....

Now girlz, you do realize that issue #39 is a reprint...err...an encore presentation of issue #1. And I'm willing to bet next Monday's newsletter will be a encore presentation too since Makepeace is doing his thang this week in D.C.

I like it for all the reasons you mentioned, and I like that it's html not plain text. I also like that he seperates the pitches from the content using either a johnson box, side bar, or ps.

I've been getting the newsletter since the beginning - and I also did a series of six conference calls with Clayton.

He comes across as an authority because he is an authority. Working in direct response for 20/25 years, with some of the top names - reponsible for phenomenally successful campaigns. And as you say, he's prepared to share it.

He also has a great personality which comes across in his writing. And he certainly knows how to write - he uses all the best techniques to pull the reader in and keep their interest.

Hi Janet,
Is there a link where we can hear these interviews?

Is there a price for these audios?

Thanks!

I can vouch for the ebook he has out there for $79, "Double Your Profits in 12 Months or Less".

I'm not an affiliate or anything... I'm just telling you for the price tag, the information was terrific. Much better than some of the $500-$1,000 packages I've seen lately.

The free ebook he includes as part of the purchase, "Beat the Blank Page Blues" is simply outstanding. I don't think I've come across a more valuable 6-page ebook than this one.

Michael, I'm pretty sure. . . not 100% sure. . .that his ebook was just a compilation of his earlier letters. I almost bought it myself, but when I read the bullets in his ad, I knew (most of) the answers from reading his letter.

You're absolutely right about his tiny "Beat The Blank Page Blues" ebook. In a word it's. . .PRICELESS.
