I'd just like to know people's ideas on how to get targeted traffic to your NEW site (i.e. no mailing list or other sites to link from) at the lowest cost possible.

I have tried surf click exchange sites which get lots of traffic but none targeted. So now I am just participating in different forums to try and promote my sites and also am going to start using adwords soon.

So far I have had no results.

Adwords and the Overture version of adwords are the easiest and fastest way.

I started writing articles and publishing them on my site over a year ago. It didn't seem to bring ANY natural results. But I stuck with it, and used very targeted SEO content. 1 keyphrase per article. And I researched the key phrases carefully. I looked for obscure ones that didn't have too much competition.

It's finally paying off. After a year, I starting to get a lot of natural results.

I've done fairly well with doing adword advertising in the past, but then stumbled onto Jimmy Deans program and was totally blown away from the information you get.

Yes- it'll cost you $10.00 per month, but I truly believe this information is priceless...

Especially if you are just starting out.

Think about it like this:

You pay your ten bucks and get access for a whole month of awesome information on getting (and growing) traffic to your website.

That's 33 cents per day!

I think that adwords is great for advertising, because you get instant gratification and it's also a great tracking tool,

-- but then you also need to know about how to make it all work, such as which keywords to use and the proper "mini" headlines needed to get people to cick on your link,

-- this is a whole new "science" that you'll have to learn if you want clicks.

My advice:

If you're going to throw away ten dollars on an advertising campaign you know nothing about, you're better off learning the basics of creating and maintaining a traffic-grabbing webpage first...

-- or the traffic you do get will be wasted money.

Just so you understand, it is not a true copywriters paradise like Michel's board -- it's for creating and maintaining traffic.

I hate to mention other peoples services on this forum, but I also hate seeing friends of mine miss out on good information as well.

I don't think this is competing at all, Stephen. There is no single site out there that answers all of our questions, and teaches us all the skills we need to learn, to excel. We all rely on a network of sites, I appreciate the chance to find good, reputable sources for learning these different things! (Esp. considering the frauds are a dime-a-dozen)
