Default Any Sources For Creating Mouthwatering Newspaper Ads? - 03-28-2006, 09:53 PM

Hey guys,

I am selling an arthritis product and have contacted a newspaper to put an ad into.. Now before I do that do you have any resources for copywriting tips on writing good newspaper ads?

I am trying to get people to go to my website from that newspaper to get a free 30 day supply of my arthritis product.

Any Headline tips or eyeball catching stuff would help...

I did read all the stuff on thegaryhalbertletter.com

I am just looking for good tips or even if you have well known swipe files of good newspaper ads would help.

Thanks

Roger

Hey Roger,

Just my novice comments here - but I think you'd do best with a series of smaller ads with a simple headline like "Arthritis Pain?" - followed by copy like "A new Free report reveals the secrets to easing your arthritis pain - visit www.website.com for complete details."

I know a local Chiropractor who does very well with a series of small ads like this using headlines like "Back Pain?", "Car Accident?" or "Slipped Disk?" - and then they all offer a free report available either online or by calling a toll free number.

Once you request the report you get a large envelope in the mail with the info promised, a number of pages of patient testimonials, and a coupon good for a free initial consultation vaild for 30 days. If he doesn't hear from you after a week or two a repeat mailing goes out - and he gets many patients to his practice this way running these ads week after week, year after year.

Hope that gives you some ideas!

Here's a Carlton ad you can swipe (even though it's a magazine print ad) that could work for a newspaper ad:

Wow Jaykay, have you been reading my newspapers? That's him alright, and the "Nerve Pinched" is one of the few different ads I've seen him run.

I haven't been in to talk to him to find out just how successful he's been with these ads, but I've seen them in the paper almost everyday for the year or so I've been living here so you know they've got to be working well.

Good find!

Steve

There is a chiropractor in the Buffalo, NY area doing the same exact thing. The follow-up is terrific. A very powerful special report package is sent. If you don't respond you are then hit with another copy of the special report along with post card follow-up.

This is one of the finest "systems" I've ever seen when it comes to marketing any product or service.

This technology seems to be everywhere...

I just worked with a chiro as well who was
following the same format... a newspaper
ad that read like an article.

Two days later I saw the same thing being
done on television... the 10 or 15 second
commercial guided viewers to both a 24hr
hotline where they could order the free
report... or to a website where they could
get it by filling out a form.

I bet it's working for every one of them!
