Default Copywriting Self Promotion Question - 04-27-2004, 06:17 PM

Hi,

I'm looking for advice from copywriters who have experience writing for corporations and ad agencies outside their own geographic location. I want to expand my business base.

Here's some questions I need answers for

1) What self-promotion techniques did you use for first contact? Sent an email? Postcard? Sales letter? I'm looking for "pro-active" techniques rather than waiting for prospects to come across your website, find you in a search engine, read your book or article. These are all good, but I want more immediate response.

2) Where and how to find qualified prospects. Did you you purchase a mailing list? Researched via a search engine?

3) How do you arrange payment with an agency or client that's outside your area? What advice would give?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Best Regards,
Dave Coyne

2) Have you tried elance.com, guru.com, contractedwork.com ?

3) Through paypal.com or direct wire-transfer.
