Default Please Vote for Your Favorite Headline - 08-16-2005, 03:12 PM

After reading John Carlton's Aug. 11th blog post at http://www.john-carlton.com I'm convinced I need to rewrite the headline for my www.networkaholics-revealed.com site.

Here are a few I came up with (you'll undoubtedly recognize that some of these are based on swipe-file classics).

Please vote for the one you think is best. (I'll then change my lead/letter to fit the best headline.) (Feel free to suggest new headlines if you don't like any of these.)

Possible new headlines:

1. "You'll Be Absolutely Blown Away By All The Killer Networking Techniques I've Dragged Out of 49 Top Marketing Pros for My New 'Networkaholics Revealed!' Ebook!"

2. "49 Networking Pros Show You How To Make Business-Boosting Connections on Demand -- In Spite Of Your Timid Personality!"

3. "The Easiest Way in the World for You to Cash In on the Exploding Networking Trends!"

4. "Just Released! 49 of the World’s Top Networking Geniuses Reveal Little-Known Networking Secrets That Can Make You Rich!"

5. "49 of The Country's Top Marketing and Business Experts Spill Their Guts and Reveal Their Most Profitable Networking Secrets..."

6. "How to Quickly & Easily Increase Your Sales & Profits Using These Proven Networking Strategies ... 100% Guaranteed!"

7. "The Amazing Secrets of 49 Top Marketing Pros Show You How You Can Quickly and Easily Explode Your Business Without Spending a Single Dime on Advertising!"

8. "How to Win Friends, Influence People and Make Money Through Networking!"

9. "How a Shy, Clueless, Cubicle-Cloistered Blonde Accidentally Networked Herself into Powerful, Profitable Relationships with Some of the Country’s Most Successful and Sought-After Marketing Pros!"

Thank you!

Split test #6, #9 and #4.

My guess is:

Best #6 (Hard to go wrong by starting with "How to" and ending with "Guaranteed"...)

Next #9

Then #4

Split test them and let your visitors vote...

(With their credit cards!)

#9 has my vote, followed by #2. I like the idea that you're differentiating "networking" versus "mlm" since it may cause confusion. And I also like that you qualify your reader with words like "timid" or "shy."

But I would add a takeaway to it, if I were you. Something like:

"49 Shmoozing Pros Share Their Networking Secrets On How To Make Business-Boosting Connections And Relationships on Demand -- In Spite Of Your Timid Personality!"

And...

"How a Shy, Clueless, Cubicle-Cloistered Blonde Accidentally Networked Herself into Powerful, Profitable Relationships with Some of the Country’s Most Successful and Sought-After Marketing Pros! (And How You Can, Too -- Once You Know Her Secrets..."

Alright! All of you liked #9, so I think I'll go with that one. Time for tweaking and testing!

Thank you very much for your votes, John, Eric and Michel!
