I guess one of the main reasons for starting this thread was to indicate to noobs that freelance copywriting isn't as relaxed and chilled as many of today's 'courses' make it sound.

It's not as simple as that. If you want to work as a copywriter, you have to make the effort to market yourself.
It's like one wise person once said, being a copywriter isn't about being a copywriter as much as it's about being a marketer. Once you know how to market yourself, then you can get on with being a copywriter.
And it takes a lot of time and effort to become a self-marketer.
Personally, I wouldn't have it any different. I spend so much time on the ol' laptop cos I love what I do, every aspect of it.
But I admit I do have to drag myself away from it sometimes to make sure I'm spending enough time with family and friends and covering important duties and not being totally sucked into cyberspace! |
