Stretching cold muscles can be a bad thing leading to injuries, especially cold muscles that have been underworked. Ask me how I know

.
It's a good idea, in my non-professional opinion, to warm up those muscles a bit before stretching. It can be just some kind of movement to get blood flowing in the area, i.e. walking around for your legs, or swinging your arms back and forth for just a minute or so, depending on what muscles you intend to stretch.
I'm no pro, but I have found this to be very true in my case. BTW, this is also something recommended by Tony Little. How do I know? I purchased a couple of his video tapes a few years ago.
Mr. Little recommends stretching "after" your workout to reduce the amount of time it takes for your muscles to recover and repair after your workout.
This probably follows your copywriting analogy as well. Stretch after you get their attention and suck them in. But you already said that.
