Default MVP Mea Culpa - 09-23-2006, 10:52 PM

I have an apology to make.

First to the board as a whole:

Earlier in the month I suggested we have an MVP poll. I thought it might serve as a good way to promote the board and, more importantly, to acknowledge the individuals who spend a lot of time educating, challenging, and provoking us all to become better marketers and copywriters.

To be frank, I probably should have given more thought to this before I put it out there. I birthed an idea and then orphaned it, without explanation or any real effort to see it through.

Pretty lame. So for that, mea culpa.

I also owe Dale King a personal and public apology. You see, he was actually the reason I thought of the MVP contest in the first place.

If I counted correctly, 100 votes were cast. When you think about the number of people who post here on a regular basis, I think that's a pretty good turnout. Dale got nearly twice as many votes as the next person.

I think everyone would agree that Dale shares with, educates, challenges and provokes us to become better (therefore more profitable) at what we do.

So hat's off to Dale!

If we agree to continue with this, I'd welcome any suggestions for what we could all do to give an "attaboy" (or girl) to Dale and future winners.

And I'll see what I can come up with, too. Really.

Thanks!

Andy
